Mrs. Jennifer Kirkpatrick

Welcome to Coder Elementary!! I am your child's school counselor and I have THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD because I work with all of our students and teachers. In 1990, I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Habilitation of the Deaf from Texas Christian University and then later received my Masters in Education with an emphasis in  School Counseling from TCU in 2001. You might say I bleed purple!

My school experiences include teaching students in 1st-3rd grades as well as students who were receiving special education services. It's hard to believe but I am beginning my 29th year in education! Coby, my husband, is Executive Director of Human Resources and Student Services in Burleson ISD and we've been blessed with 2 amazing kids: Our son, Callaway, is a recent graduate of Tarleton State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. He is excited to teach and coach at Burleson Centennial High School. Our daughter, Kadyn, is a junior at Tarleton and is majoring in kinesiology. When she isn't in class, you might find her on the softball field as she plays outfield for the TSU TexAnn's. We have two furry furever dogs, Ace and Homer!

This year, each month, all Coder Cats will visit my Peace Class. We are using the Character Counts! framework--trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. The kids will have a mini-lesson built around  the featured character trait and then participate in an activity to apply what they've learned. I will also have social and emotional learning stations with plenty of opportunities to integrate important life skills.

Please call or email me if I can ever be of service to you or your child. I look forward to a TERRIFIC 2018-2019 school year!
