AISD Device Protection Plan
Aledo ISD is offering a Device Protection Plan for all 6th-12th graders who check out a district Chromebook. The plan is optional but highly recommended by Aledo ISD.
For just $25, you can get FULL COVERAGE for your child’s district-issued Chromebook. This includes unlimited breakage incidents as well as theft protection coverage. Please note that this is non-refundable and only applies to the current school year.
Please note that if you decline this coverage you will be responsible for the full cost of any repairs, theft or loss of the Chromebook, including:
Cost for broken screen - $100
Cost for theft, loss or intentional damage - $250
If you’re ready to purchase the Device Protection Plan for your student(s), please log in to the district’s InTouch website. Or click here for instructions for using InTouch and purchasing the Device Protection Plan.
What if I have multiple students who have checked out Chromebooks?
The cost will be $25 per district-issued Chromebook. In the InTouch system, you will need to select each of your students separately and complete the steps to add the Device Protection Plan to your cart before checking out.
What do I need to do if my student's district-issued Chromebook is damaged?
Take the Chromebook to your campus library and fill out an incident report. A loaner device will be issued until your Chromebook has been repaired. Fees may be charged to your InTouch account for damage if you do not have Device Protection coverage.
Does the Device Protection plan include coverage if I lose the district-issued Chromebook?
No. If the device is lost, then you will be charged the full amount ($250) to replace the Chromebook. However, theft coverage is included, but you must submit a police report.
How can my child get a Chromebook if one has not been issued?
Students can go to their district Launchpad page and enter a work order using the technology help desk system.
Are charging cords covered under the protection plan?
