Mrs. Kathleen Porras
My name is Kathleen Porras, and this is my first year at McCall Elementary. I am so excited to make some music with the Bearcats this year!
I went through the Aledo School system and was involved with music throughout my childhood. I traveled around the world with the Texas Girls Choir in elementary school, played as principal horn in the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, conducted as drum major of the Aledo High School marching band, and performed in the all-state band my senior year of high school.
It felt only natural to continue on to a degree in music education. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelors in Music Studies. I have performed in a variety of ensembles inluding orchestra, band, opera and choir. Music impacted me so much in my youth that it has become my passion to impart musicianship to my students!
