Hello! My name is Melba Poppe (pronounced "poppy" like a flower).  I am a 34-year teaching veteran of all-level art education in Texas public schools. This is my second year at Aledo High School and I am thrilled to be part of the Bearcat family.  This year I'll be teaching Painting, Sculpture, AP Drawing, AP 2-D Design, and AP 3-D Design in the Art 2 classroom.  

I am married to Dr. Kenneth Poppe who is an adjunct professor at Southern Nazarene University, have three adult sons:  David, Jordan, and Samuel, as well a beautiful furry daughter named Valentina. 

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA.  My degree is All-level Art Education, endorsements in ESL (English as a Second Language), and Driver's Ed.   

My passions include family, art, photography, travel, music, and dance.
