The bond proposal was approved by 62 percent of the votes (4,047). In this election, there were 6,535 total votes, including 3,798 during the early voting period.

Aledo ISD will provide consistent updates on the district website and through social media regarding the progress of the voter-approved 2019 bond. This will include updates to the Board of Trustees, information shared at Bond Progress Committee meetings and important milestones during the process.

Aledo ISD voters approved the funding for two new campuses, renovations to three existing campuses, replacement furniture at three elementary schools, land for future school sites, and school buses. Additionally, the approved bond proposal does not include a tax rate increase and the overall school tax rate has dropped by 10 cents.

The BGC, which was led by community co-chairs Christi James and Jim Scott and included 36 fellow community members, held 10 meetings from January to August examining the District’s increasing student enrollment growth data, financial information, district-wide facility needs, and instructional goals. The BGC built a bond recommendation that focuses on student capacity needs and learning spaces at the middle and elementary school levels.
