Welcome to Mrs. Banks' English Class.  

Let me just say-I have been teaching for a long time! I taught high school English in Springtown,Tx right after graduating from the University of North Texas then stayed home when my son, Joey, was born. During that time I had the utmost pleasure of working with my parents in their specialty advertising business and being able to take Joey with me every day to work. When Joey began 1st grade, I found myself called back to teaching and taught 1st grade at the same school as Joey which is now Coder Elementary. Back in the old days, Coder was simply the K-2 school and not called Coder Elementary. Two years later Stuard Elementary opened up, and I've been here ever since. That was 21 years ago!

I have taught almost every grade now except for kindergarten,5th, and 12th grade, but without a doubt, 4th grade is my absolute favorite.

 I have a wonderful son, Joey, who is now Dr. William Joseph Durkin with a doctorate in geophysics. He is currently working and living with his wife in Boston.  I have a fantastically energetic and comforting German short haired pointer- Brittany mix named Gracie who I walk with on long walks every chance I can. I need to write a book titled, Lessons I've Learned From Gracie! I enjoy traveling, working out, reading, writing, cooking, and yes- shopping.

They will be with Ms.Caldwell from 8:00-10:15 Math/Science

They will be with me for the rest of the day except at lunch and specials.
