AISD Instructional Technology HUB

  • AISD Vision

Our goal in Aledo ISD is to leverage technology in the classroom to elevate and enhance teaching and learning and to build future ready students, while ensuring a safe and secure digital learning environment.

We aim to scale technology usage across all grade levels from K-12, ensuring age-appropriate exposure and responsible use. We are also mindful of the amount of time students spend on technology, striving to focus on other essential learning activities and balance screen time.
In our continued efforts to prioritize a safe digital learning environment for all students, some of our digital safety measures include:

    • Restricted Online Sites / Filtering Systems: To continue to protect our students from inappropriate and harmful content, the District has a filtering system that restricts access to certain websites that may contain explicit, violent, or inappropriate content.  Users with access to the Internet through AISD’s network will be filtered and blocked from visual depictions that are obscene, pornographic, inappropriate for students, or harmful to minors, as defined by the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and as determined by the district.
    • Digital Citizenship Education for Students: To continue to educate students on appropriate technology usage, the District incorporates lessons on digital citizenship, teaching students about responsible online behavior.
    • Professional Development for Staff: To continue to educate and update our staff, ongoing professional learning is provided in digital safety and meaningful ways to integrate technology tools in the classroom. Campus and district leadership receive additional training on how to monitor students attempting to access explicit content.
    • Parental Involvement/Partnership: We encourage parents to partner with us in our efforts to promote a safe digital learning environment at school and at home. We encourage you to stress and reinforce the importance of online safety at home, and we invite you to join us in learning opportunities and resources that will be available to you throughout the school year.
